Let's Preserve 2011
This wonderful event took place on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg in partnership with Melita Love of Farm to Pantry.
Merrilee Olson of CAM Foodworks lead the day's activities by
providing guidance to the volunteers new to canning. The 238
jars of tomatoes canned on that day were donated to the
Healdsburg Food Pantry. Together we had fun, preserved cooking traditions, perserved the
bounty of fresh tomotoes from community gardens and of course
experienced community spirit at its finest. It was a great day to be a Soroptimist!

The Palmer Pig Roast October 22, 2011
Another worthy cause supported by Soroptimist International of Healdsburg. Wonderful food and company and another chance to make a difference in our community.
Sponsored by Russ’s Kitchen Project, this event raised funds for the girls of Hogar Dońa Chucha and Altagracia, who are abandoned, orphaned and disadvantaged in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Healdsburg Water Carnival
July 23, 2011
Our club proudly participated in this year's re-creation of the historic Healdsburg Water Carnival at Veterans
Memorial Beach in Healdsburg. The day began with the iconic White
Swan float coming down the Russian River and passing under Memorial
Bridge followed by 24 more floats. Food, music and fun was had by all! Proceeds from this event benefited the
installation of Veterans Memorial Beach Dam which has served as the
community “swimming pool” on the Russian River for over 100 years in
Healdsburg. Can't wait until next year!
