Soroptimist International of Healdsburg
was chartered on April 7, 1956 with 18 members.  We are part of Founder Region, Soroptimist International of the Americas. In any location in the world where there is a Soroptimist Club, a warm welcome is extended to a member who is visiting or moving to a new location.  We also welcome those who may be interested in joining us.

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  Our EIN is 94-6174155

Soroptimist Meetings 

There are 2 Meetings a month:
          2nd Wednesday of the Month from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Bean Affair
          4th Wednesday of the Month from 12:15 noon to 1:15 PM at Foss Creek School
Guests and potential members are welcome at program meetings.

Soroptimists have the opportunity to attend district meetings, regional conferences and international conventions held all over the world.


Be an Involved Member

Regular attendance at meetings is encouraged.  Each member is expected to serve on committees and participate in the club's activities.

 

Financial Obligations of Membership

Annual Dues are approximately $140 (prorated throughout the year for new members)
Induction Fee is $7.50 

Modest fines may be imposed on members in the spirit of friendship, examples are; having your picture in the newspaper, buying a new car, forgetting to wear your pin, etc.

Members are encouraged to participate in fundraising and special service projects.

Some of these items are tax deductible (consult your accountant for confirmation)


 




What Do We Do ?
Soroptimist International of Healdsburg was chartered in 1956.  Our fundraising events allow us to continue supporting these community service programs:
  >>  Scholarships to graduating seniors from Healdsburg High School
  >>  The Violet Richardson Award, recognizing a young woman for her volunteer efforts.
  >>  The Woman's Opportunity Award to support a single parent's re-entry into education
       to provide for her family
  >>  SCRAPPI -- Sonoma County Risk Assessment Project -- a program to identify women 
       who are at risk for breast and ovarian cancer
  >>  The Sonoma County YWCA Women's Shelter Safehouse
  >>  Support for programs against Domestic Violence such as the Adobe Project
  >>  DAAC -- the Drug Abuse Alternative Center
  >>  Celebration of Giving -- a Christmas Party for less fortunate families
  >>  Prenatal Classes at Alliance Medical Center for first time mothers
  >>  Christmas Tree Lighting in support of Home Hospice
  >>  Sports and Arts scholarships for young girls with the Shannon Boas Memorial Fund
  >>  Youth Programs such as Most Improved Student's Recognition and Luncheon,
      Tomorrow's Leaders Today, REIBT, Healdsburg Science Fair 
  >>  SIH also participates in many regional programs such as Fellowship Scholarships
       for women in their final year of studies for their doctoral degree, international
       programs to train women for self-supporting jobs in underdeveloped countries,
       Women Survivors of War and Disaster programs and projects which benefit
       women and girls all over the world.
