Soroptimist International was founded in October 1921 in Oakland, California. There are now more than 95,000 members in over 100 countries. It is the largest classified service organization for executive, professional and business women in the world. Soroptimists unite to provide service and to promote personal and professional growth. Soroptimist International of Healdsburg was chartered on April 7, 1956, with 18 members. It is part of Founder Region, Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc. which is one of the four Federations of Soroptimist International. In any location in the world there is a Soroptimist Club, a warm welcome is extended to a member who is visiting or moving to a new location.
